Italian language teachers use videoconferencing and Second Life to engage students and reinforce conversation skills. Students conversed with students in Barcellona, Messina and learned about Italian culture from a family in Genoa, Liguria.

Ramapo students also connect virtually in-district to strengthen language skills: middle school students taught grade 4 at Cherry Lane Elementary, and high school students read Il Gatto E Il Cappello Matto with middle school students. Students also used Second Life to go on a shopping spree which culminated with a fashion show enhancing their descriptive language skills.
